|
 |
| |

The Round Britain Race 2012 (RB12)
will be the biggest multi-faceted event to have been
staged in Britain. 75 powerboats, 100 super and
vintage cars and 50 aircraft will visit 12 venues
around Britain during the first two weeks of July
2012, providing a thrilling spectacle for the public
and a challenging and demanding event for
participants. It is envisaged that there will be

RB12 is not just a race; on-shore events in the form
of cultural shows, air displays, fireworks and live
music are being planned. In addition, to provide a
legacy for this and future Round Britain events, we
are forming partnerships with Charities and
Development Agencies to deliver and maintain
employment training programmes in areas local to the
stop-over venues. RB12 intends to deliver as much of
the event as possible via local and national social

THE 2010
BRITISH POWERBOAT FESTIVAL OFFICIAL TIMING PARTNER -
EDOX SWISS WATCHES |
|
|
|
 |
| |
|
Based
in the Jura Hills in Switzerland, this family owned
and run watch house is recognised for producing fine
Swiss watches for the past 125 years. The brand has
been associated with many landmarks during its
manufacturing history – Edox produced the first
double case-backed watch in 1951, which set new
standards in timepiece water résistance. In 1998
their engineers developed the slimmest calendar
watch and this record is still held unbroken by Edox
today. |
|
|
|
In 2008 Edox commenced forging
partnerships within the nautical industry by
becoming the ‘Official Timing Partner’ for the
‘Class-1 Offshore Powerboat Championships’ – “the
Formula-1 of the Seas”. More recently, this nautical
link has been extended to include sponsorship of the
‘Dubai International Marine Club Regatta’ supporting
the sea ‘Dubai RC44 Yachts Challenge’ for the
Americas Cup. Edox and Sea Dubai place the same
priority and importance in achieving perfection,
uncompromising reliability, precision, prestige and
performance.
|
|
|
|
This synergy between time and sailing
goes back to sixteenth century navigation and this
collaboration is as true today as it was then. Today
the brand supports the WRC (World Rally
Championships) as their ‘Official Timing Partners’
and recently celebrated this link by producing a
functional watch range dedicated to rally drivers,
navigators and motoring enthusiasts alike. |
